The taste of nature.The Sterpo agricultural company, located in the homonymous village of Sterpo, after over 50 years of activity processes about 15,000 quintals of trout (rainbow trout, flour trout and char) into fresh fillets, hamburgers and other local delicacies every year. These are the flagship products of the brand La Sorgente del Gusto.
The surrounding natural environment is an important element for the company and its farms. The village of Sterpo is located at the source of the Stella river, in a territory rich in water and close to the area of the springs which are generated by the snowfall and rain in the Carnic Alps and the foothills, and which sink into the icy ground to return to the surface thanks to the waterproof deep layers of the soil further downstream. Spring water is the ideal habitat for many fish species, such as salmonoids of which trout is the queen.
